“Mousse Can Muffler”

In my case I used a 2.75 fl. oz Ronson butane refill can. The Ronson butane refill was $7 on Amazon! It will be painted flat black when it's finished, I attached it to a tuned pipe header with a short silicone hose. It's put together with JB Weld Epoxy. I still need to drill and tap a fuel tank pressure nipple in the header.

If it ever gets warm again, I'm looking forward to bench testing the Webra with the OEM muffler, my DYI Mousse Can, and the Tuned Pipe to see the differences. By coincidence it appears my tuned pipe and header is close to the recommended length for this engine, so hopefully it won't take too much cut and test time. My neighbors will hate me that day!

The Mousse Can length is tuned by experience from a bunch of Outlaw fliers. I found a great write up on it in an on-line forum. They actually get high praise for big RPM gains.

If you can't find a header that works that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, the Mousse Muffler is a pretty cheap alternative and light for its size.
